A 2cy Caspian Gull dropped in to #LMGP this morning with good numbers of LWHG. Much more advanced than the bird earlier this week, also probably a female as quite dainty. Open wing shows moult in inner primaries.

A bit of a movement of 2cy Caspian Gulls through #LMGP this week. This is this morning's bird - the 3rd different Casp there this week.

7 s/p Icelandic Black-tailed Godwits refuelling at #LMGP this morning. Always distant on the east side before flying off c08:50. 7 arrived at Dinton Pastures c20 mins later, which may well be the same birds.

My 1st juvenile Yellow-legged Gull of the season yesterday evening (July 5th) at #LMGP. My earliest here by some days - glad to see them back.

Pleased to find a male Lesser Emperor at #LMGP this lunchtime - couple of distant record shots. In fact, I think there may have been 2 but not conclusive. Second site record, 1st in 2005. A species on the increase in the UK.

This week one of our volunteers went to help a friend determine the species and roost type of bats living in her home, after spotting some droppings. They were blown away when 81 soprano pipistrelles came pouring out 🦇 Great to know of another local maternity roost doing well 💚

🦇 Our tiny bat patients are carefully fed by hand at Tiggywinkles. Once recovered, we try something rather special… Our volunteers wait at the spot they were found (often for hours) and, incredibly, the parent will often fly back to collect them = Bats reunited! #teamwork

Gorgeous bunches of heather at Marlow Common 🌺 Our volunteers have worked hard to maintain and establish fresh bunches in all our open woodland areas. As its Latin name suggests (Calluna) meaning "to brush", heather was once used to make brushes and brooms 🧹
