Well it’s another school year & our decades of HVAC issues persists. It’s going to be 97° today & our pre-K 4 classroom doesn’t have air. Why does the students & staff at WhittierES STEM continuously have to experience unsafe & unhealthy building conditions?

Otherwise known as "Mayor Bowser Presents DC Public Schools that are unsafe places for learning."

My best friend is not only glowing because she is amazing but there is no air in her classroom (Ward 6) DC Public Schools — she walked in to a hot classroom this morning, which poses health and safety risk for students and staff. #SaveOurSchools 🥵🥵

We can’t breathe 🥵! Why are DC Public Schools and DC Department of General Services continuing to put the health and safety of WhittierES STEM students & staff at risk? Why come into the building and fix one broken A/C. Thanks but what about the ones others… still waiting since 8/15/23 #SaveOurSchools

I'm calling on DCPS to secure a nearby swing space for WhittierES STEM and relieve overcrowding at Ida B. Wells Middle School and Coolidge SHS DCPS. And I'm offering solutions that do right by our schools. Whittier, Wells and Coolidge are great neighborhood schools and deserve our full support.
