After a whirlwind few months I've been taking some time out to recharge my batteries. We've had some amazing days over the summer and I'm so excited to see where we go as I continue my Facilitator role for another term extended for 40 mths . Thanks everyone involved

Annual leave means ....haircut.. manicure ...catching up with jobs in the hse and garden and my wonderful family and friends . Swimming and trips out . And a letter from the orthopaedics to say I've got my long awaited knee replacement on Oct 21st. Yey !! to pain-free days

Thank-you to those been in touch . Am doing great mentally and glad I opted for non sedation (apart from the sound of them drilling and hammering), so I have a new knee and can't wait to get that long term effect. Right now though I look like I've been in a hit and run 🤣

Day 4 and had a 5 minute walk in sunshine . All going to plan .

Day 13 . Had my staples out and just getting some feeling back in my leg. Being on crutches is quite comical being left handed ! Blessed to have had so much support .friends family and colleagues . Think maybe the pain is far worse than I expected but coping . Xxx

A great advantage to being off is to spend quality time with this gorgeous boy. Grandma snuggles and breakfast and waving him off to school. #sickleave #new knee #familytime

Day 17 . Ventures out to matlock Park with my son Oliver Hodgkinson . Recommended time now is 30 mins a day which I achieved. Still have a dead leg but getting some feeling back .

Back today on a phased return and muchly excited to get back into swing of things . 6 weeks off has given me time to think about how I can improve the work I have done already . I still believe Suicide Prevention is Everyone's Business whatever your business. See you all soon

I am here at Chesterfield college having conversations around suicide prevention.assistd by Erewash Voluntary Action Sonia Richardson . Still a lot of stigma around mental health and suicide . Making some great connections too. Always lovely to see Jaye from Snapp-it

When I first started this project when I was a Hca in urgent treatment male suicide was my main reason. Fantastic years on to see so much openess around it thanks to organisations and groups like Mentell Bottled Up Blokes CIC and #ANDYSMANCLUB and many more . Great work !!

Contrary to popular belief I have not retired I've been busy using up my annual leave before the end of March . looking forward to working with our new SP Officer after my trip to Spain next week. Then Derby College connecting with students and encouraging conversations

A great couple of days at Derby College doing workshops around helping a mate promoting suicide prevention. Got the students completing the zero suicide alliance training as part of the session . Feels great to be back doing what I love and getting positive feedback from them

I'm in skiathos having a fantastic chill. Currently with no electricity in our apartment. ! The diet has gone to pot but loving sampling the local food and wine...did the mama Mia tour on a boat

So proud of our Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS FT teams who are being so supportive whilst we nurse our mum at home . The rapid response team and the DN team and Dementia Palliative Care team.all amazing . Just wanted to shout out as we are so grateful !!

On Monday 2nd September we lay our beautiful mum to rest after a short battle with cancer and a long battle with dementia . She remained at home with support from our Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS FT colleagues and Blythe House Hospice Roaming Car .Reunited with Dad .
