Somehow I didn't realize until becoming a parent that the Chicken Little story is actually a folk tale warning us about social media's dangerous ability to spread misinformation.

I know I'm in the minority, but when I see a Rauchbier, I try it. This one from DRU BRU is quite good: plenty crisp, quenching, and bready for a Helles but with an added dimension from beechwood smoked malt. ThisWeekInRauchbier

Ten years ago, on Cambridge Brewing Co's 25th anniversary, I profiled this pioneering brewpub for BeerAdvocate magazine. I thought I'd reshare today, the day after they served their last pint in Kendall Square. #CraftBeer beeradvocate.com/articles/9654/…

Remember this beer? Rated & reviewed thousands of times, the subject of many a brewery pilgrimage, and once considered the world's best, Westvleteren XII, a Belgian Quad, is arguably the first hype beer. Drinking it reminded me to revisit more classic beers & beer styles in 2025.

OK Beer Twitter, who's going to sell off the dusty bottles in their beer cellar to buy San Francisco's iconic toronado from Dave Keene as he prepares to retire?

What a singular expression of the PNW from Ferment Brewing. If you live in OR or WA, go find a bottle of this mixed fermentation farmhouse ale with Douglas fir tips. It's worth the hunt.

Here in Seattle, Maritime Pacific has reached the impressive 35 year milestone and is merging with Rooftop Brewing Co.. This got me thinking: How many other U.S. breweries (large or small) are still operational and 35 years old or more? My best estimate is around 50. Got a guess?
