Day 2 was very wet and windy giving us a real insight into the conditions for soldiers on the front line. We visited: Beaumont Hamel, Sunken Lane, Hawthorn Crater, Caterpillar Valley Cemetery and Thiepval Memorial.

Day 3 started with visited Le Hamel which is a memorial to fallen Australians. The rain had stopped, the mist broke and the sun came out. We spent time map reading and discussing tactics to capture Germany trenches.

The whole school took part in the first part of our Legacy 110 project for Remembrance. We created a roll of honour for 16 local soldiers who lived in Albert Road, Alfred Street and Middleton Road. They fought and died in World War 1. We will remember them.

Thank you to the teachers and staff in schools across the country this morning - you are part of our vital front line in the fight against coronavirus. Help schools to focus on the children who need a place most, and keep your kids at home if you can. #StayHomeSaveLives

This week at Wheelers we're celebrating the end of the school year a bit differently. Usually, we would be out on trips and taking part in Sports day. Despite covid, we're still having fun though! Check the following tweets to see what they've been up to!
