I don't... I like minimal wall posters. Clean. I put some posters with the standards for each course. For our reference. But student work is on our whiteboards daily. Does that count as decor? 😂 #ThinkingClassroom #BFC530

Please do not use Teachers Pay Teachers for ANYTHING to do with #OrangeShirtDay. Not only is TPT NOT audited for equity and cultural appropriation, creators are literally making money off of Indigenous trauma. I will continue to share free vetted resources this month! 🧡🪶

Turned our heat on to 19°C/66°F yesterday. To maintain a minimum temperature as the house was 17°C when we woke up after sleeping with the windows cracked open.

Teacher friends: tell me about the ways you're using ChatGPT in your workflow because we know there just aren't enough hours in the day for all the tasks we have on our plate 😴 : #edchat #edtech #mtbos #iteachmath #mathchat

Yesterday was #Ottawa's 139th consecutive day with minimum temperature ≥4°C which puts this run in 5th place for the longest run on record. If this continues, we will reach 4th place Monday. #YowWx #OttWeather #YOW #OttNews #ONWx

First two weeks back in the Math classroom. We started with non-curricular #ThinkingClassroom tasks week 1. Now into our course curriculum week 2. Making good use of our Team Wipebook grids for graphing... do they come with a heavy duty Magnetic strip across the top yet? 😉

Introducing Pythagorean Theorem to MTH1W. Started by creating different right triangles from ribbons cut to Pythagorean triples. Then led to the pattern of two smallest squares adding up to the largest for all our triangles. #ThinkingClassroom

For over a year, I’ve run a middle-grade book club (for kids aged 10 to 12) at my local indie bookstore. Here are ten observations about their reading preferences that might be helpful to children’s book professionals in some small way. 🧵

I taught my grade 9 science class about Grassy Narrows last week. Why? Because it’s directly related to the curriculum. Why teach about abstract “human activity” when I could be talking about real stuff happening right now?
