I can't drink without plastic straws. For years I've bought clear ones online (look a bit nicer than kids' ones). Since the straw ban they've got more expensive and now they've disappeared If your environmentalism only affects disabled people, it's not as progressive as you think

You’re far, far more likely to meet a disabled person who isn’t able to get the support they need (or doesn’t have the capacity to apply for it) than you are someone who is “faking it” and fraudulently claiming support.

Everyday I see a new person dying of Long COVID, ME/CFS, EDS, etc and even the Specialists in this field don’t ever seem concerned enough about the severity of the matter, even within the Community the Severity of these Diseases are not treated as urgently as they should be, IMO.

i so badly want to write a piece on the highs and lows of disabled people, and what it's like to be disabled at christmas time/throughout the festive season but getting freelance gigs, paid or unpaid, is hard enough but to find someone that will publish is like finding gold dust.
