Every day, millions of children around the world go to school on an empty stomach – affecting their concentration and ability to learn. School meals nourish minds, bodies and futures.

🚨 Over 3 million people are affected by #ElNiño-induced #Drought in central and southern #Mozambique, facing extreme hunger. The urgent need for support is overwhelming. World Food Programme requires US$154M to provide life-saving food assistance to 1.1 million 🇲🇿vulnerable individuals.

In Bilene, Gaza province🇲🇿, UNHCR discussed the harmonization of procedures for beneficiary selection within the scope of the response to the #ElNino phenomenon. Organized by WFP Mozambique & INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE GESTÃO DE CALAMIDADES the event also brought district administrators from Gaza and Inhambane.

While visiting the north of the country, World Food Programme #Mozambique Country Director had the chance to interact with young men and women to learn about their plans and challenges for new businesses initiatives that will allow them to ensure a better future for them and their communities.
