I'm watching this too! We are better prepared with World Health Organization (WHO) optimized supportive care (#oSOC) + potentially promising therapeutics (nature.com/articles/s4146…) Bob Cross @LarryZeitlin GOARN

Remember how South Korea 🇰🇷 found lots of COVID cases early on and controlled the outbreak? Portugal 🇵🇹quickly identified monkeypox cases and now has lower daily case counts, total at 588. Brazil 🇧🇷late to identify cases, now has 696. Likewise, US 🇺🇸slow to test, saw sudden rise

Latest update on the #marburgvirus disease outbreak in #Ghana. Great to see the active leadership of the government in responding to this outbreak esp enhanced surveillance, contract tracing, and increased clinician sensitization ongoing on case detection, management, and IPC.

Way to go UNC School of Law! 93% passage rate for first-time test takers for the July 2022 NC bar exam (& 90% overall passage rate). Congrats to all those who passed! For those who weren't successful this time: There's no shame. Reach out, & let's work together to get it done next time!

Nice piece w/ Daniel Bausch - need to transition from discreet outbreak response to integrated cycles of readiness, response, and recovery This doctor fought Ebola in the trenches. Now he's got a better way to stop diseases npr.org/sections/goats…

Early #diagnostics are key for both #treatment and #prevention - #PALM data support early initiation of #antiviral therapy + #supportivecare improves survival. A better #outbreakresponse includes increasing #access to diagnostics, vaccines, supportive care and therapeutics

Frustrating to see the playbook on how NOT to be prepared for #outbreak is still being used. Not complicated - surveillance is a key #outbreak pillar The U.S. government is taking action to stop ‘cow flu.’ Is it too little, too late? | Science | AAAS science.org/content/articl…

Risk communication is essential in #outbreak response. Opportunity to -build trust with affected and at risk communities -reassure by stating what is being done -convey uncertainty and steps being taken to fill the gaps -unite rather than divide cdc.gov/flu/avianflu/a…

This would be great if we first had efficacy data. Clinical research is a critical part of #outbreak response. We deserve safe and effective treatments.
