Our speaker Mark Tovey is unfortunately not able to do his presentation tomorrow, due to personal circumstances. Nevertheless, we have an alternative presentation on light pollution, which will hopefully spark some interesting discussions!

Are you getting excited about the upcoming total #SolarEclipse on April 8? Join us for an eclipse-themed public night where Prof. Jan Cami will show you what to expect during the eclipse, how to prepare for it, and how to get the best possible and safe eclipse viewing experience.

Where will the path of the eclipse cross on April 8th?

It will cross over several Canadian cities, and getting into the 'path of totality,' where you can experience full darkness in 100% totality, is the best way to view the eclipse!

We welcome you all to our next public night, this Saturday, March 2. This evening is all about pre-telescopic astronomical instruments. Dr. Mark Tovey will bring several such devices and demonstrate how a skilled astronomer could use those to figure out what happens inthe heavens

🔭Cronyn Observatory will open its doors on Saturday, January 13th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, for an enlightening evening under the stars. We're thrilled to present 'Astronomical Events in 2024,' a special talk by Peter Jedicke.
