It’s important to create an atmosphere of mutual understanding and dialogue between the media and police in order to ensure collaboration between the two parties during election periods.

Electoral periods in any country can be contentious, tense and with a higher probability for conflict than other times. Law enforcement assistance is needed to keep voters and election officials safe. Cooperation is essential.

The course has taught me to be empathetic towards victims of human trafficking and to move away from using victim-blaming questions when interviewing sexually abused children and victims of human trafficking. I will use the training materials I received to teach my colleagues.
