Many observers say that education is one important factor toward alleviating poverty in Tanzania. Wesley College provides young Tanzanians a doorway into higher education, as well as confidence that they can change their nation for the better.

"Wesley College has given back hope to young people. It has resuscitated dreams," Dr. Bonface Wanyama, head of the college's theology department, told viewers of the Harambe celebration. When you support Wesley College, you are bringing dreams back to life!

30 Wesley College students will get scholarships in the coming academic year--thanks to the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference's Board of Ordained Ministry. That's 30 lives that will be changed and communities that will grow stronger. We thank them for their worldwide vision!

As of 2022, nearly 26 million people in Tanzania lived in extreme poverty. Gilbert, a Wesley College student, knows the pain of having only torn clothing to wear. His church will provide clothing for neighbors. His education inspires him to bring dignity to his community.

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK: John Windell "It's one of the most exciting things I've done," says John Windell, an Indiana elder who teaches at Wesley College. "God’s been in the midst of every moment of it. My faith increases every time I am here."
