Our paper on heritability is out (open access) at PNAS! I think it really improved through the review process, and we're glad to have this out there! pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Well spring is coming soon, so I'm putting out the call again for producers/agronomists to send us soil samples from pea or lentil fields. We got great data last year, but we need more samples to build a robust root rot prediction model. AB Pulse Growers Saskatchewan Pulse Growers MPSG

Developmental timing in plants disq.us/t/4nmnjya Another must read in my list and learn how to write. Dr. Enrico Coen always wrote a scientific paper like a fascinating novel.

As Mackay and Anholt emphasise, epistasis is typically not observed in analyses of common variant effects in humans *for methodological reasons*, not because it doesn't exist

I was reading 2023 Nobel laureate Katalin Kariko's book, Breaking Through. She was brutally honest about the academic system in US. And, here is an example section from her book.

After 3 years test and validation, first batch crosses for pea root rot resistance are on the road now! One small step for the pea cancer.

Just as we feared, the onslaught of roots has come all at once - lime trials from multiple sites, early vs late seeded lentil and pea from multiple sites lead by Gursahib Singh, germplasm screening wentao zhang, and coop disease nursery. Heroic @CVucurevich to rate all these!!

I & Syama Syama Chatterton presented the pan pathogemome,PenSeq,effectors of pea root rot disease #pag32. We can now detect pathogen to strain level in soil. Please stop by P592. Thx Sask Agriculture Saskatchewan Pulse Growers WGRF funding. More are coming for root rot.
