A paper I wrote for ILA. English is an alphabetic language. Our alphabet has 26 letters. Those letters alone and in combinations can be used to represent the 44 sounds in Eng. Teaching those sound-spellings unlocks a large % of words for rdrs. What a gift we can give them!
