Unusually for this place, I've some good news to share!Had a great chat with the legendary referee John Williams today. He's almost eleven reds with black's years olds now, but doing well, and I'm meeting him for a real catch up next week. Hope I'm not late and get scratched 😂

This will be a great night celebrating a milestone in snooker's popularity. I can now let you know that the legendary referee, John Williams, will be in attendance, and I will take his place in refereeing the final frame re-match! Very limited number of tickets still available.

So other than a single toilet visit, I’ve watched 140 minutes of Masters golf coverage. Not a single reference or visual of page 2 of the leaderboard. Anybody chasing the leaders? Poor coverage that I’m paying far too much for Sky Sports Golf

Managed a few days at home after the qualifiers but now back in Sheffield for 13 days at the big one. Strange not to be unpacking suits and dress shirts this year, but looking forward to a new challenge. Tournament Director at the crucible? There’s worse jobs out there….!

So, on this day in both 2016 and 2021 I was referreeing a world final. This time last year I was preparing to referee my last match as a professional referee. Here I am in 2025 watching it from an office in the role of tournament director. What a lucky man I am, #StillLuvsItIDo
