The Bill Shankly I knew features prominently in my autobiography which will hopefully be released by the end of November. The times I spent with Bill at Radio City were priceless. He was a giant of a man. Not in stature but in personality and character.

He was mesmeric. We spent a day together in Bruges prior to the second leg of the '76 UEFA Cup Final. Then he joined me for Radio City's match commentary. He made me feel like St.Peter.😇 And he knew I was a Blue.

Played over 80 times for Bolton scoring over 30 goals.Numerous assists too. At Granada we were always keen to cover Bolton because Frank was box office.

I'm not so sure luck had anything to do with it. He was recommended by one of Liverpool's former players. A chap called Matt Busby. You might have heard of him 😅
