Arizona School Voucher Program Causes Budget Meltdown — ProPublica propublica.org/article/arizon…

Voters across both parties care about their public schools and don’t want a private school voucher program that will bankrupt our state like it did in Arizona. Disappointed that conservative legislators would vote to hurt community schools.

The private school voucher effort isn’t about fairness. Fairness would be fully funding public schools where 5.5 million students are educated. This is all about following the money from mega donors.

Irresponsible decision for our economy, the Texas budget, and most especially for the 5.5 million school children educated in community schools in Texas. But the Governor’s mega donors who benefit personally from this “welfare for the wealthy” celebrate. Tragic for Texas.
