The annual #Weiwuying Open House is coming! On October 10, we will invite artists from various fields to present four free performances, inviting everyone to step into the venue and enjoy the beauty of artistic life! Tickets will be available on-site ▸ October 10 (Monday) 12:00.

The annual Open House has successfully concluded. Ｗe invited the audience to experience the beauty of the performing arts with free performances, featuring organ concerts, opera choruses & contemporary dance, making the holiday full of laughter.

SWING PARTY, the most impressive highlight of #Weiwuying Open House, not only featured the pop singers gracing the stage as always but showcased a mix of jazz, a cappella ＆ gothic metal from the selected Open Call teams, extending the festivities from the hall to the open air.

Recently, the contemporary organ master, Thierry Escaich, delighted music lovers with 2 stunning performances. With his extraordinary skill, he not only performed Saint-Saëns' Symphony No. 3 but also showed his profound talent for improvisation, revealing the power of the organ.

Adapted from the short stories of renowned novelist HUANG Chun-ming, Shinehouse Theatre's “ECHO” features both deaf and hearing actors, using puppets and sign language to tell a story centered on family ties & love for the land. #Weiwuying

Since 2021, the #Weiwuying Artist-In-Residence, CHOU Shu-yi, has launched “Bolero in Kaohsiung” project, bringing “1875 Ravel & Bolero” from performance venues to the streets. 3 years later, it returned to the theater, releasing the rich energy of the city, and was well received.

In 2025, #Weiwuying's most popular program, Masters Play, invites Golden Melody Award Best New Artist HUNG Pei-yu to perform with conductor CHIEN Wen-pin & Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, reimagining famous Taiwanese songwriter Salsa CHEN's music with classical orchestration.

After 6 years, the @BRSO will finally return to #Weiwuying with conductor Sir Simon Rattle. This time, they will present “Nachtmusik” — Mahler's Symphony No. 7, inspired by Rembrandt's paintings, and will lead the audience to explore Mahler's profound fantasy world.

The 2024 TAIWAN DANCE PLATFORM has concluded successfully. At “Colors”, Bulareyaung Dance Company transformed the azure sea of the East Coast into a blue-and-white-striped stage canvas, where restless dancers roamed nimbly in and out, connecting the audience with nature.

Accompanied by the mascot LULU, #Weiwuying’s Artistic Director CHIEN Wen-pin waved a candy cane as a magic wand to gently light up the 10-meter Christmas tree. The tree illuminated the winter night, filling every corner with a magical and heartwarming festive atmosphere.

Internationally respected theatre director Emma RICE will bring her acclaimed “Wuthering Heights” to #Weiwuying! Adapted from Emily BRONTË's novel, this production tells a story with imaginative physical performances & smooth mise-en-scène, taking audiences on a powerful journey.

Performed by Taiwanese dancer WANG Yeu-kwn & Indonesian dancer Danang Pamungkas, "ISLAND" tells the story of a fisherman seeking his true self, exploring the body & shifting identities with the tides. The journey begins at #Weiwuying in 2015. Stay tuned!

Produced by Taiwan Bangzi Opera Company, “Revenger” portrays the dark journey of a Jinyiwei officer. Blending the charm of Yu Opera with breathtaking visuals & intricate character emotions, it immerses the audience in a grand world of martial arts. #Weiwuying

#Weiwuying presents "A Virtual Tour of the Pipe Organ," featuring 360-degree scans and expert commentary. We invite children wearing VR headsets to explore the concert hall & the pipe organ’s wind system room, embarking on a journey where music and technology intertwine.

#Weiwuying's long-term creative program, LEARNING ART TOGETHER, invites students to cultivate an art appreciation. In the second half of 2024, students explored the pipe organ and learned about Peking Opera & Taiwanese Opera through theatrical performances.

World-renowned dance artist Akram Khan will collaborate with English National Ballet & Academy Award winner Tim Yip to present “Giselle” at #Weiwuying in 2025. The production features atmospheric lighting & stage sets, conjuring up the vengeful ghosts that appear in the shadows.

"Embarking on a Drift to the Unknown", a solo show blending soundscapes & documentation. Based on actress LAU Genn’s grandmom's true story, it traces a woman’s journey, family history, and the history of immigration in Asia. It will be performed at #Weiwuying in June 2025.
