Exciting to share our recent work on fabricating gas separation membranes using molecular materials (cages and macrocycles). Using the cocrystallization strategy, we obtained highly crystalline membranes that precisely integrating molecules with different pore size or functions.

In collarboration with Prof. Tang's group in NJUST, we designed a molecular cage to trap cyclo-N5ˉ, a highly unstable anion. By intentionally minimizing strong interactions, the cage preserved the aromaticity of N5ˉ, while its decomposition was directly observed via SC-XRD.

Thrilled to see our work of water-assisted microwave synthesis of imide-linked #COFs was published on J. Am. Chem. Soc.. doi.org/10.1021/jacs.5…. Here we achieved rapid imide-linked COF synthesis in minutes with high crystallinity and porosity.
