Here’s a situation many of us have seen in the ICU or ED: “It looked like there was ST elevation on the monitor but when I took a 12 lead it was gone?!” A STEMI went MIA? Here’s a #tweetorial all about why ST segments look different on monitors. #FOAMed #FOAMcc 1/

Last week of vacation = peak mileage week! I’m not a high mileage runner, so this is the highest I’ve gotten so far. Super happy with this marathon cycle and with what my body has thought me. Side note: don’t stop doing what you love during residency! #ChicagoMarathon

Flying back to St. Louis tonight with the best “end-of-vacation” news! Just got my first research grant application approved. Special thank you to Nancy Sweitzer MDPhD for being an incredible mentor. The real work is about to start and I'm looking forward to it.

GOOD LUCK to all applicants! Time to sit and wait, which, in my opinion, is the hardest part of the season. To my fellow IMGs, our interviews take longer to arrive, don’t worry, you’ll be fine. Deep breaths, in and out. It’s about to get very exciting ☺️

Day 2 of reading IM applications! I know this is a stressful time for applicants - but it is absolutely amazing to read your stories. The future of medicine is in great hands! WUSM Department of Medicine Test Account WashU Internal Medicine Residency Program

10-day countdown for the Chicago Marathon! But I’ll only be able to run it with some extra help. We need to reach 75% of the fundraising goal by next week, and we’re almost there! 🫀 Please, if you can, donate and/or share! Link below. #RunWithHeart www2.heart.org/site/TR/Marath…

Now that I can walk again, time to share: marathoner x2! Chicago offered the perfect conditions for an 11-minute PR (and a world record too)! It’s always rewarding and painful to cross the finish line. But we only remember the rewarding part. That’s why we keep on doing it!

Happy delayed Halloween from the CCU 🫀 night team! We initially wanted to dress up like swans 🦢(iykyk), but the makeup and feathers would be a bit too much for the unit. So we kept it simple.

Talked about how low dose radiation to entire ventricle can get a patient out of refractory VF this weekend at the Heart Rhythm Society 2024 meeting. How cool is that?! Grateful to my mentors (especially Phillip Cuculich, MD) and all the opportunities I’ve been given at WashU Internal Medicine Residency Program 🫀
