Next, meet Eco Nasi. A team based in Kenya who is developing pineapple pulp waste into an alternative leather material through an innovative bacterial and enzymatic process, all while empowering communities with new economic opportunities. 🍍🙌

Today, meet team Envirovex. With students at universities in England, Spain, and the U.S., Envirovex is implementing bio-based wastewater treatment technologies to tackle the sources of antibiotic release from agriculture, livestock, pharmaceutical, and wastewater discharge. 🦠💚

Finally, meet Rethread Africa of Kenya. Formerly 2024 semifinalists, this team is replacing traditional plastic synthetic fabrics with PHA biopolymers from organic waste that fully biodegrades in a natural environment without the need for industrial composting. Rethread Africa
