Stunning Cornhill Castle in Biggar. A fairytale location to be married and always a great place to sketch. Fantastic sunsets by the river too. Congratulations to Emma and Neil who had two pipers to welcome their guests as I sketched before the ceremony.

I’m slowing down a bit now with the flowers as the wedding season picks up. I was at a lovely wedding at the weekend in Peebles at Neidpath Castle. Beautiful places hidden away around the country, I’m so lucky to get to visit them all.

Blossom. For this one I experimented with drawing the outline of all the flowers before dropping in colour on wet paper to show the blurred lines of each flower.

Almost there with my new larger drawing board for weddings. I now offer larger 16x20inch pieces live, as well as the usual 10x8. I’m burning a design on the back as often guests wonder what I’m up to standing at the back with my pens and paper🤣✍🏻

After liking the contrast in the sharpie drawn blossom yesterday I thought I would carry this on with a daffodil today. The dark lines and colour fills are reminding me of Roger Hargreaves’s Mister Men books.
