#Melissa is blowing up some very deep convection over the central and southeastern Bahamas this evening. Likely some very strong winds (gusts up to or over 100mph are possible) and incredibly heavy rain with these.

Small taste of #Hurricane #MELISSA on SW coast of #Jamaica, just as we started getting raked by violent right eyewall. Belive it or not, this was before the peak conditions, when everything turned white, the screaming sound became unbearable, & we needed to bolt the door shut.

Now that Melissa is heading out to sea, looks like we'll have at least one more typhoon potential across the West Pacific. Still quite a bit of disagreement on strength, but it doesn't look like it'll be incredibly strong. Still something to watch in the Philippines and Vietnam.

Liking the trends with the monthly Canadian climate model for December. Think it's picking up on our overall pattern to start winter quite well. Multiple shots of cold air + snow potential across the central and eastern states. Ridge builds in the Southwest. Variable in-between.
