The very first accurascale CDA China clay wagon I’ve been sent by a client to weather and it’s a stunning model. Really comes to life given a weathering, working from photos of the real thing. Shame they are no more on the mainline,but live on in model form via this great model!

Bachmann vs Accurascale. The top EWS class 37 is Bachmanns old model with the impressive accurascale 37 in InterCity livery below. Clearly the Accurascale model is more detailed + of a much higher pedigree but the old Bachmann model still scrubs up well with weathering #tmrguk

Recent weathering work… 33056 The Burma Star looking fairly well looked after alongside a tatty 58012 in Mainline Grey livery. Never saw much of the class 33 growing up but visiting Toton regularly there were a shed load of Class 58s so they have always been a favourite. #tmrguk

It can often be cruel comparing photos of a model and the prototype photo provided by a client side by side as you can never get the weathering completely exact but in general it’s about going for the closest likeness you can. This is the result. Heljan O gauge 31. #tmrguk

A pair of the brilliant accurascale Class 37s with pre-TOPS numbers weathered this week for a client. The Green one is copied from a photo of a different class 37 as instructed. The BR Blue one is rather more standard in its weathering but reflecting an every day look. #tmrguk

Always good to see photos of my weathering work back on a layout. In this case my mate Paul’s stunning layout, aptly named ‘St. Paul’s’. Weathered a lot of his stuff over the past few years and the layout only helps add to the realism in the photos. #tmrguk
