There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling. ~ Mirabel Osler #gardendc #MondayThoughts #gardenquote

One interesting visit during the recent Garden Communicators International Paul meeting in Grand Rapids was to Holland, MI. I didn’t expect to see a #communitygarden there and was happy to check out what the plot gardeners were growing. Very bountiful! #gardencomm #allotmentgarden #gardencommunity

Garden Tip of the Day: Much has been made of planting Milkweed for Monarch caterpillars, but to assist their migration south to Mexico in the fall, plant nectar sources such as Goldenrod, Liatris, Joe Pye Weed, and Asters. #gardendc #gardening #gardenchat #gardentips #gardeningX

Garden Tip of the Day: Avoid using Black Walnut leaves, bark, or wood chips to mulch your landscape--even after a period of composting--as they may still contain small amounts of juglone (a natural growth-inhibitor). #gardendc #gardening #gardentips #gardenhacks
