It was lovely to welcome two of our new kit sponsors to Wayland Academy this afternoon. Thanks to SGK Roofing we have a new Y7/8 football kit and because of Norfolk Stairlifts support we were able to purchase a new Y9/10 football kit. More new kits coming soon…

On Wednesday, Wayland Academy hosted the mid-Norfolk Tag Rugby Festival. The event was a great success with every fixture being refereed by our Year 10 GCSE PE students. The feedback from the event organiser and the Primary Schools teaching staff was excellent!

The new sponsored football shirts were in action again last night, with the Year 9s Boys team. Unfortunately, the result went against Wayland, but thank you to the Year 8s who stepped up to join the team for this fixture.

Here are this year’s winners and runners up of the Rotary Club Annual Photography Competition. Dr Mike presented certificates and feedback at an awards afternoon on Monday. Students received high praise for the annotation and also the variety of responses

It’s has been lovely to catch up with so many Y11 parents this evening Wayland Academy Post-mock Parents Evening. Learning next steps ahead of Easter sessions and summer exams.

This week our secondary academies met at The Nest for two days of football action, with 288 matches and 72 teams taking to the pitch. Sportsmanship and determination were on display as our student-athletes competed across each day. Read more here: inspirationtrust.org/58/news/post/2…

I have been walking through these doors for 15yrs, 10 of those as the Principal and today I say farewell. I wish the best to all of the Wayland pupils and families in the future. I have been fortunate to have an amazing team and I will miss them all. 👋
