Our boys started the season on a winning note, taking home the team title at the Newark Catholic Invitational yesterday. Senior Jack Hangen led the way, placing 5th overall with a time of 16:34. Fellow seniors Luke Hollis (9th) and Brady Spears (10th) also placed in the top 10.

Our girls came up big yesterday, securing the team title at the Newark Catholic Invitational. Sophomore Kaitlyn Van Zandt was the overall winner, while freshman Karine Bhowmick (3rd), senior Cecilia Keller (4th), and sophomore Campbell Retzke (8th) posted top-10 performances.

Our varsity boys picked up their second invite win of the season Saturday night, taking home first place at Seneca East's Stars, Stripes, & Lights. Four Eagles placed in the top 10 overall: Jack Hangen (2nd), Luke Hollis (3rd), Brady Spears (8th), and Nathan Monahan (10th).

Our varsity boys placed sixth out of 26 teams at the Celtic Clash Saturday night, and were the highest ranked team among D2 schools. Three seniors led the way, all placing in the top 40 overall: Jack Hangen (15:45, 9th), Luke Hollis (16:15, 25th), and Brady Spears (16:29, 40th).

The girls narrowly missed a team title in a stacked Bear Race at the Berlin Bear Den Dash, falling by one point to Avon. Kaitlyn Van Zandt led the way, lowering her school record to 18:03. She was followed by Karine Bhowmick, Campbell Retzke, Cecilia Keller, and Emma Drab.

Senior Jack Hangen competed as an individual in a fast Bear Race at the Berlin Bear Den Dash, placing 13th overall with a time of 15:43. Jack now owns four of the eight fastest 5K times in school history.

Despite the absence of Jack Hangen, the boys still finished second in the Double Blue race at the Berlin Bear Den Dash. Brady Spears was our top perfomer, placing third overall with a time of 16:30. Next up were Nathan Monahan, Max Kowalski, Collin Ritter, and Luke Hollis.

The boys won their first regional championship in program history, besting New Philadelphia by 39 points. Jack Hangen (fifth overall) was the top individual finisher, followed by Luke Hollis (12th), Brady Spears (13th), Nathan Monahan (37th), and Max Kowalski (51st).
