This March has been the wettest I’ve recorded at the station since I started in 2011 with 176mm so far. Also it’s over double the March average of 85.7mm. The yearly total of 508.5mm is near half of what we normally get in a year with just 3 months gone.

Today was the warmest day of the year so far in Waterford with a Max Temp of 17.7c recorded. Interestingly within one hour of that reading the temp dropped to 12.5c after a sea breeze kicked in

We had our warmest day of the year so far yesterday in Waterford with a Max Temp of 20.1c recorded at my station. Possibly that bit higher today. Just a pity it’s not going to last beyond tomorrow

Crazy rain and hail in Waterford City a while ago.

Just looking back through the data from yesterday’s Thunderstorm and the Max Rainfall rate was 180mm/h. In layman’s terms if it continued at that rate for one hour 180mm would have been recorded

A Max Temp of 24.3c today making it the warmest day of the year so far at the station. That’s two years running September has recorded the Max of the year with a 27.2c recorded in September last year.

Status Orange Level Rain and Snow Warning Issued for tomorrow. Nowcast as usual when it comes to snow in these parts.
