Delighted to share that this #watercolour #painting ‘Frosted fields, Clayton, East Sussex’ has been selected for the TALP2023 Open Exhibition in The Artist category. The exhibition runs from 13th July-13th August at the Patchings Arts Centre, Nottinghamshire. Am thrilled to bits!

Happy New Year! I don’t know why but it’s always nice to finish the first painting of a new year. I’m hopeful that this effort ‘Brighton beach at sunrise’ is a predictor of a great year of paintings to come!

I recently asked for advice on a title for a painting. A few people suggested ‘muddy puddles’. While I didn’t go with that suggestion, it obviously influenced my next choice of subject! Here then are some ‘muddy puddles’!

A little watercolour sketch of Barcelona to celebrate booking a little holiday there at the end of the month - I can’t wait!

Accidentally knocked a full glass of red wine over my preparatory sketch! Decided to carry on regardless and was quite pleased with how it turned out. It’s certainly much more fragrant than most of my paintings!

#NewProfilePic realised that I’d been using the same profile picture from 2011 for years so thought it was time for a change. Differences are that I’m a lot older, even greyer, bigger of beard, about 3 stones heavier and maybe a bit better at painting.
