I would say these have Babylon 5 level of hope vs grit in them. IE: the balance needed for me to keep reading at a decent pace.

There is some misunderstanding. I'm pointing out that this cover uses a frequently used set of colors and design composition. I think it's a great cover, especially for a science fiction/fantasy anthology where you need to communicate the vibe but not any specific story elements.
