A swarm of very small earthquakes is occurring at #MountRainier. What does this mean for our communities? Currently, there is no indication that the level of earthquake activity is cause for concern. See thread from USGS Volcanoes🌋: 🔶Current Swarm 🔵located earthquakes since 2020

Director Harold Tobin with @SeattleTimes about the ongoing EQ swarm at Mt Rainier: seattletimes.com/seattle-news/e… It’s the biggest swarm since 2009, we’re closely monitoring the EQ activity, but we don’t see anything to elevate the level of concern about volcanic activity at this time.

Happy #FieldWorkFriday! Two new seismic stations are now online: CRESC and CHUTE. UO College of Arts and Sciences students Karlee and Charlie installed the seismometers! The PNSN fosters undergrads' professional development by hiring summer field technicians at both our University of Oregon and @uofwa offices.
