Gusty and dusty

Crazy amount of dust kicked up in the Great Basin today, including the Sevier Lake bed southwest of the Wasatch Front. Easily visible on satellite.

I just booked a tropical family vacation mid-winter, thus ensuring a big storm cycle while I am gone.

This is the next 7 days… Models are showing quite a bit of precip for Northern Utah. Very beneficial. Also, highly likely we see some decent snowfall accumulation in the highest elevations.

Did you know that May is SLC’s wettest month on average? We need all the rain (and snow) we can get.

I hope this summer temperature forecast is not accurate.

Another decent late-spring storm is moving in this weekend. Sunday looks to be the most likely day for "powder" and there's a chance amounts could be in the significant-for-this-time-of-year range.

Snowing now!

We have 5” of snow from 0.61” of water over the past 24 hours at 9600’ in LCC. Looks like quite a bit less farther down the mountain. Occasional showers continue into tomorrow.

After careful consideration of my finances, I have decided not to make an offer to purchase Park City Mountain.

It’s not out of the question to see a stray shower tomorrow, but for the most part, we are done with this active pattern. It’s possible we are settling in now for a long, hot summer.
