I sometimes wonder about doing podcast interviews with parents on the end of top-down decision-making about future of their children's schools. Anyone with podcast skills want to get in touch about that?

Warwick Mansell Paul ‘world beating’ Hopkins 🙋🏽‍♂️👨🏽‍🔬🧮🖥🦡 The OECD comment is about public schools, i.e. local authority maintained. Academies are private schools. So from page 1 of the UK (sic) report, we learn that in 2022, 37% of primary-aged children attend private institutions compared to 15% across OECD.

Following this thread on Harris Federation's forced academisation of Byron Court in north London, it's worth noting that changing school's name on takeover is far from ubiquitous across academies sector. United Learning, for eg, kept names of all schools recently taken over.

Warwick Mansell A MAT I worked at "nothing will change and we're working together". Now, school has got a different name, different uniform, different badge. Gone through several heads in 10 years. "good Ofsted rating thanks to most staff staying". A lie, few staff are still there from pre-MAT.
