It’s Mother’s Day and I feel conflicted - anxious about the kids’ future yet hopeful that they will figure a way out of the mess we created. All I have to give them are the consequences of my own actions here and now. Wish you all the moms out there a #HappyMothersDay2025.

It’s extraordinary that MoEFCC’s authority under the Forest Conservation Act could be undermined by the Assam State Government. Where is accountability?

#Airquality management in #Assam must begin with the strengthening of the monitoring network, which at present is highly limited to #Guwahati & a handful of industrial towns. This urban bias leaves most districts, especially rural & peri-urban regions, unmonitored and invisible

Anger is spilling out in the streets of #Delhi regarding the toxic air the people there have to endure. But in #Guwahati, which is seeing similar levels of #AQI readings, the people seem blissfully unaware of the repercussions and the government is also keeping mum.

“We can’t breathe here.” Byrnihat, once green, clean, and quiet; is now India’s most polluted town. Lives are being poisoned, livelihoods destroyed, and silence is the policy response. How many more towns must choke before action? PMO India
