Half my stress in life comes from knowing that if my Facebook-browsing finger slips *ever* so slightly from the “care” reaction, I will inadvertently give the “laughing” reaction to someone’s horrible life event.

Are you craving more history content? Long drive on a 3-day weekend & need a break from true crime? The lawn needs to be mowed (again), or your gym playlist isn’t the right vibe? Look into @DMH_at_CGSC’s podcasts “A Confused Heap of Facts” & “Broad-Gauge Gossips.” #EducateToWin

These silhouettes in our kitchen depict Henry Clay and DeWitt Clinton. Today, though, I’m calling them “Pre-Thanksgiving” and “Post-Thanksgiving.”

My favorite President Carter moments are tied to the Camp David Accords. After difficulties in negotiations, Carter watched Star Wars with Anwar Sadat and the group undertook a staff ride to Gettysburg. Proof that History and SciFi can solve the most intractable problems. RIP.

Jim was the Ewing Chair when I taught at USMA. I remember when he generously gave my wife and me his tickets to an Army game so we could have the full West Point experience. A kind man and a great scholar!

Grateful for the opportunity to have presented at another Civil War Institute Summer Conference at Gettysburg College. Some truly great friends in attendance.
