The regeneration of Castlegate took another step forward yesterday as work to uncover the River Sheaf began. The Sheaf at Castlegate will see daylight for the first time in over 100 years. Next to the river, a new park on the site of the former Sheffield castle is being created.

A lovely photo. Happily Staithes has retained its character. Here are a few photos taken approximately 50 years later. You get some wonderful sunsets on that coast too.

Hello Peak District National Park Sheffield Parks and Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust we know people regularly stop the night here and we don't want to spoil anyone's fun but they were having a campfire tonight ignoring the 'No naked flames. High risk of Fire' warning signs. maps.app.goo.gl/cGnSYWapAsDffo…

1/2 Children of John Thomas Haycock (crucible maker) and his wife Martha Elizabeth. The monumental mason's invoice lists the carving of 175 letters at 1/- per dozen, the total required for the two children who died weeks apart in 1895. It seems they didn't charge for punctuation

National Trust members. Please remember to vote. It really matters. Institutions need public participation to keep them healthy and open and evolving to serve society.

A quick heads up about our volunteer session this Saturday. For a variety of reasons many of the regulars can't be there this week. However, Ranger Bob will still be going and will bring an assortment of tools. wardsendcemetery.wordpress.com/ranger-led-con…
