Incredible Lismore lantern parade finale. After lantern tribute to tinny armada that rescued many from flood's destruction, a heart (Lismore's symbol) destroyed to reveal Phoenix rising again as Lismore will. Wonderful to see my community celebrating even after such a tough year

Lismore's recovery efforts have been almost entirely Indigenous-led. Work of Koori Mail & others (e.g. CASPA & We Al-li) during #lismorefloods clear proof of benefits of greater Indigenous inclusion in decision-making & why more is better for us all abc.net.au/news/2022-08-0…

At our yoga day event with India in Sydney, we heard many stories of how yoga had helped people in their #lismorefloods recovery journey. In response, our program ‘Yoga for Health & Harmony’ launches this week, starting with free weekly community yoga classes eventbrite.com/e/ncnm-present…

Legitimately surprised how directionless and lacking in detail this report is. As Lismore resident every time I travel for work I get shocked how life in rest of Oz moving on as normal. It doesn't here, region still very much in limbo. It's not good enough theguardian.com/australia-news…

I've heard people wonder why Lismore is still reeling so much from this year's floods 6 months on, but this puts it in perspective. Lismore well equipped to deal with floods, but 2022 was unprecedented at a level once thought impossible, but that climate change now makes possible

Australians are some of the highest users of #naturalmedicine in the world, yet our health care system has lower levels of regulation and integration of #traditionalmedicine than most countries. “At National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) we are trying to make this happen.” Jon Wardle bit.ly/3rHDRKe

Like for many, 2022 was a rough year so have not been posting much but was nice to start the year clearing my head with loved ones in Kosciuszko NP. Hard to see into the mists to know what 2023 will bring but looking forward to aiming for a more productive and prosperous year

When in Chicago for a medical conference it's important to make a visit to the most sacred pilgrimage site for nephrologists everywhere

It's hard to believe this was both so long ago and yet so recent. One year today since #lismorefloods which still deeply impacts us all. Thinking of everyone in my still very much recovering adopted home town today

"While the RBA is worried about people's wages being too high, the data shows inflation would have stayed within the RBA's target range if corporations hadn't gouged customers at the checkout." Greg Jericho explains 👇 #auspol

Great to see @MargaretFaux acknowledged. Her critics focused on one message they didn't like - that Medicare was ripe for fraudulent exploitation - & ignored complex & nuanced analysis of numerous inefficiencies from systemic issues, inc first evidence of fear-based underbilling

Doesnt have to disappear. In our house we still call music "nubip", mangoes "fanangoes"; elephants "oshleks" and talk about how we're "cement to" do things.
