When floods ravaged Beledweyne, thousands —already displaced by drought & conflict—were forced to flee once again. Wardi Relief & Development Initiatives(WARDI) with support from Somalia Humanitarian Fund has distributed dignity kits comprising of personal items to vulnerable women & girls at our Kalkal, Shimbirale and Omar Fiasco Health Centers to provide Clinical Management of Rape (CMR) & Psychosocial Support (PSS).


Wardi Relief & Development Initiatives(WARDI) this week distributed dry foods to IDPs fleeing from armed conflict in #AdanYabal. The ongoing flash floods have worsened the situation, intensifying the vulnerabilities in the host communities in #Gubadley district.

Wardi Relief & Development Initiatives(WARDI) recently distributed 151 hygiene kits to 996 vulnerable HHs in Afgoye district. Each kit comprises buckets, jerrycans, bar soap, and aqua tabs to help reduce the spread of cholera and acute diarrhea. Proper hygiene saves lives! 130 mothers from 15 villages in Afgoye & Mataban districts joined Wardi Relief & Development Initiatives(WARDI) IYCF counsellors to learn breastfeeding & complementary feeding practices. Through our T.A project funded by @BMZ x @Caritas, we’re strengthening child nutrition through mother-led learning.


💧Wardi Relief & Development Initiatives(WARDI) has trained 300 people from 6 villages in #Afgoye on personal hygiene and sanitation through the #TAProject funded by Bundesentwicklungsministerium x Caritas international. Families learned about water treatment, handwashing, food hygiene & cholera prevention to prevent disease outbreaks.



We've concluded a mass livestock vaccination campaign in #Guricel for over 1,200 animals, safeguarding the livelihoods of more than 120 pastoralist HHs. Diseases like PPR, CCPP, & goat pox can wipe out herds & plunge families into crisis if not treated. Caritas international GermanForeignOffice


Wardi Relief & Development Initiatives(WARDI) has delivered 270 shoats to 54 HHs in Guricel, bringing the total goats distributed to 600, benefitting 120 HHs. For families who lost their herds to drought & diseases, this is a fresh start & a chance to rebuild their livelihoods. Caritas international GermanForeignOffice


We've begun mass distribution of treated mosquito nets targeting 285,568 HHs in Deynile, Dharkenley, & Kaxda districts, during which close to 1M LLINs will be distributed. Funded by The Global Fund & UNICEF Somalia, the campaign will effectively prevent #malaria and save lives.


As the sun sets to usher in darkness, solar-powered lighting poles tower over key water infrastructure rehabilitated or constructed under our #GFFOProject in Guricel. This is a critical step to ensure safe and dignified access to water, even after dark. Caritas international GermanForeignOffice


Wardi Relief & Development Initiatives(WARDI) has delivered fruit seedlings to 120 women-led HHs in 10 villages in Beledweyne & Buloburte. Through our #FS3project funded by @actionmedeor x Bundesentwicklungsministerium, we’re providing solutions that endure beyond a single season. Fruits like guava, mango & lemon offer exactly that


Our teams in #Jowhar have distributed #NFI kits to 700 beneficiaries from 10 villages. Funded by @actionemedeor x Bundesentwicklungsministerium through our #TDAproject, the essential items will promote good hygiene & reduce waterborne diseases in areas with inadequate access to basic sanitation.
