600 people have sent letters to #waleg since last week urging them to stop cuts at our public schools. More than 1000 people wrote in March, and 400 in February. The session ends on Sunday and budgets are still being negotiated. Will you add your voice? actionnetwork.org/letters/save-p…

We're glad the Seattle Times took a look at education funding but, likely through no fault of the reporters, the headline doesn't match the article. And the article doesn't provide a full picture as to why our schools face budget cuts. seattletimes.com/education-lab/…

The regionalization factor was always a crock. It set adjoining districts up to fail, & there was never a good cohesive plan as to who got the larger regionalization percentage & erroneous assumptions undergirding all of it. #waleg

My district is looking at over $30M in local levy funds paying for SPED costs that neither the state nor the feds will cover. #waleg

We will be urging #waleg to use that extra $400M in capital gains tax revenue to help school districts close budget deficits so as to prevent further cuts and closures.

Since amply funding K-12 public education is the state's paramount duty, and as districts across WA are facing budget crises, we will expect most of this revenue to go to our public schools.
