🚀 WA-OIGC is officially a ROC-supported Centre! 🚀 We celebrated this exciting milestone on March 14th with our collaborators, stakeholders, and team members. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us—here’s to the future of geochemistry research! 🌍🔬 Curtin Media
🌍 Meet the WA-OIGC team at Cosmos on Campus! 🌌 Join us Fri 2 May at 7:30pm for our panel: Ancient Earth & Remarkable Fossils – where WA-OIGC scientists reveal how past ecosystems help tackle today’s climate challenges. 📍 Curtin University | 🗓️ 2–3 May | 🔗 eventbrite.com.au/e/cosmos-on-ca…
🦕 Curious about a sauropod’s last meal? Join us tonight Fri 2 May at 6pm to hear from Stephen Poropat about about "Judy" the Diamantinasaurus and her fossilised gut contents at #CosmosOnCampus! 🌿🦴 📍Curtin University | 📷2–3 May | 🔗eventbrite.com.au/e/cosmos-on-ca…
We had a stellar time at #CosmosOnCampus! 🌌🌍WA-OIGC shared ancient and modern Earth stories—from Judy the sauropod’s fossilised gut 🦕to ocean floor drilling 🌊. Big thanks to all who joined us for a night of science, fossils & future thinking! Curtin University Curtin Media
🐢 WA-OIGC is on a fossil hunt at Lord Howe Island! The team is searching for horned turtle Meiolania platyceps fossils. PhD student Morgane Loïs Perret Lévesque will study its anatomy and ecology to uncover how it lived and what it tells us about past ecosystems. 🌿🦴🔬
🦖 We had a blast at WA Museum Boola Bardip’s Dino Lab for WA Day! Three WA-OIGC speakers— Luke Brosnan Luke Brosnan, Adele Pentland Adele Pentland & Rhys Meyerkort—shared fossil insights on bone marrow, pterosaurs & marine reptiles 🦴🌊
Selected as a FameLab Australia semi-finalist! ✨ Honoured to represent Curtin University & share my passion for extinct horned turtles 🐢💀 Thanks to the team for the incredible #SciComm training! WA Organic & Isotope Geochemistry Centre #WomenInSTEM #Fossils
🦕 We’ve uncovered the last meal of a 95-million-year-old sauropod dinosaur! 🌿 Stephen Poropat’s new research reveals Australia’s first gut contents in a sauropod – offering fresh insight into what giants like “Judy” really ate. 📹 Watch more: youtu.be/rew4U1wZLMQ Curtin University
