Today, my walk took me past the cemetery at Cloughton & the memorial to 'A Seaman of the Great War' - the crew tragically lost on the naval hospital steamship Rohilla. She broke up near here in a gale in 1914, while sailing to Dunkirk. vimeo.com/125778904

Sandybed in Scarborough is where an admiralty wireless station (1914-43) operated with Bletchley Park. After WWII, pre-fab homes were built & some remain among new built replacement bungalows of a similar scale. With tree-lined, beech-hedged, estate roads it is delightful.

I wonder when Scarborough's Scalby School will be rebuilt after the discovery of RAAC? Haven't heard news for a while how that is progressing with site finding etc.

No signs yet of the planned extra storey being added atop Kepwick House at The Sands Development at Scarborough's Peasholm Gap. Permission was granted for nine penthouses four years' ago now & a construction management plan was passed in March this year.

Filey railway station, 1846, by G. T. Andrews, has had restoration work done to it over the last year, so time now for a set of pictures to show how fab it looks. It is listed grade II*

Happy birthday to Jacqui Abbott, born in St Helens, Lancashire on this day in 1973. When blondes and beautiful are multiple they become so dull and dutiful.
