I'm trying to avoid tweeting about politics today (cross fingers and go read, I guess), but I'm seeing ever more confirmation that, at least for social media bios, "centrist" usually means "right-wing in denial" and "libertarian" means "far right in even more denial."

Yes, I'm sticking around until/unless the guy who screwed up SolarCity screws up Twitter beyond repair. We shall see.

Reminded several times today that on "social" media as in real-life "conversations," some folks only read or listen long enough to throw in their (frequently inappropriate) response, getting more of their Me Time.

Today's personal check on the Instant Massive Twitter Exodus: I'm now down to 550 followers. On Monday, I had 551. (I've never had more than 555.) Clearly the end is...unpredictable.

If Twitter goes away, there won't be special GOAJ accounts elsewhere. Follow GOAJ on Walt at Random (walt.lishost.org), and to some extent on waltcrawford at facebook and [possibly] Mastodon. But Walt at Random is safest if least frequent.

If this all goes away, I'll still be on Facebook and, of course, my blog Walt at Random (walt.lishost.org)--and, to some extent. maybe, Mastodon. Possibly.

I've been checking the bird once or twice a day for notifications and to glance at trends. Based on that, I'm staying in hibernation--as is the goaj account. Sad.

Quick note 4.5 months later: This account is here ONLY so that nobody else can claim the username. I'm on FB and Mastodon--for OA, mostly Mastodon. I'm not here.
