1/ This Walt Bogdanich Mike Forsythe 傅才德 work is a must-read business book, and one of the greatest works of investigative journalism I have ever read. I suggest buying the book; I can't do it justice in a few tweets. But a few key points. (And a WHOA at the end!)
How is McKinsey & Company influencing global affairs? Watch Carnegie Council's The Doorstep's virtual event featuring The New York Times investigative journalists Walt Bogdanich and Mike Forsythe 傅才德 discussing their book “When McKinsey Comes to Town.” Watch the event: carnegiecouncil.co/3YTizJo
Proud Boys and McKinsey in same Borowitz column. For background read When McKinsey Comes to Town by me and Mike Forsythe 傅才德.
Thrilled to see TWO Doubleday Books here: RANDOM ACTS OF MEDICINE by Anupam Jena and Chris Worsham and WHEN MCKINSEY COMES TO TOWN by Walt Bogdanich and Mike Forsythe 傅才德 !

I’d somehow gotten out of the habit of Last Week Tonight. Just watched this latest, about McKinsey & Company and the management consultant racket. God what a magnificent TV show! If SPY Magazine has one perfect descendant, this is it. Thanks, John Oliver & HBO. youtube.com/watch?v=AiOUoj…
John Oliver's 'Last Week Tonight' censored by UAE broadcaster over references to Khashoggi's killing - this was Last Week Tonight covering McKinsey’s work in Saudi Arabia. ourmidland.com/entertainment/…
"The subject arose repeatedly at a recent conference of the International Precious Metals Institute in #Florida...'Most people in this room will see petty thefts and say, "Oh, we’re not involved in that." But everybody is.' " nytimes.com/2023/11/14/us/… via Walt Bogdanich

I just finished Walt Bogdanich and Mike Forsythe 傅才德’s When McKinsey Comes to Town, which tears the veil off of post-War global capitalism and shows how one consultancy often has its fingers on both sides of the scale. These two quotes sum things up:
So how did I keep track of the corporate chess game the Sacklers played so brilliantly? Trisha Posner suggested converting a wall in our home/office into a white board. Almost ran out of space but managed finally to crack the labyrinth that I laid out in PHARMA.
