Phone call from a parent today. Cried down the phone to me thanking me for everything I have done for her son. He’s had an incredible year and the behaviour issues he had at the start of the year are now non existent. This is 100% the good side of teaching.

Turns out you can’t sleep in if your still wired. At least it’s a lovely, slightly slower morning than usual.

Words can’t express the joy of a Monday morning with no school. I feel like an 8 year old again. Apologies to those with a few days left.

The 10th October is World Mental Health Day! It's never too early to start talking about mental health. At The Retreat we provide fun and engaging activities to help children to manage their emotions, develop their own self-care strategies, and support their resilience.

Been thinking about how far we are expected to go: School is to teach children, but some have barriers to their learning. So remove the barriers. But the barriers are medical, financial, housing, parenting, social environment. When does it stop being the school’s responsibility.

Wow! How Amazing does the entrance to our school look? Every letter has been read and shared with the pupils. Thankyou to every single Author who has written to us and told us “Why to Read and Why Books?” You’ve definitely inspired our children. Still a few more to go up!

Words cannot express my fury, frustration and outright rage. How dare they let us down like this. This is, without doubt, the hardest time education has faced since 1945 and they HAVE A PARTY? Meanwhile, I was in a heap on the floor, barely keeping it together. They have no shame
