The Stormont Programme for Government is about delivery -except it’s not. There’s no money so it’s actually largely aspirational. What is the point of the NI Assembly? I say that as someone who wanted to see the institutions restored last year.

I wonder how many of those involved in orchestrating and participating in this outrageous racial violence will be on the streets on 12 July proudly proclaiming civil and religious liberty for all.

I’m on the Belfast Glider fairly regularly and the state of the suspension (or lack of it) on them is, to use the Belfast vernacular, shackin’ altagarr.

The Orange Order in Portadown should say that while they have the right to complete their parade they will relinquish that right in the interests of better community relations. In short, to show love to their neighbour.

Horrendous and sinister image. No true Protestant would condone this. Indeed it must be unreservedly condemned. There’s something seriously wrong with a mindset that supports this, attempts to explain it away or turns a blind eye to it.

Liverpool have confirmed that the number 20 shirt will be permanently retired in honour of Diogo Jota. The tribute marks the first time Liverpool have retired a player's number in their 133-year history. It’ll also apply to women's team and all academy sides.

If you get a chance, visit the exhibition “The Memories of Others” by the late Japanese photographer Akihito Okamura in the Ulster Museum. Taken in an era of few photos, he has left us with very insightful and unusual angles on the early days of the NI Troubles in 1969 and 1970.

I wasn’t surprised to hear a journalist describe Rachel Reeves’ performance at Stormont yesterday as “wooden”. She’s always wooden and as so much of our local politics is wooden, she’ll have fitted in well.
