The Wakefield Police is currently assisting the Transit Police with a fatal pedestrian/train accident that occurred between the Albion St. and Broadway crossings. This is an active investigation and no additional information is available at this time.

Scam alert: tonight, a resident received a call from someone who claimed to be a Wakefield Police Officer looking for donations. The caller spoofed the WPD business line (781) 245-1212 to make the call look legitimate. We are currently NOT soliciting any donations.

WPD arrested 28 year old Henry Espinola of Lowell, MA at 12:26am this morning for unlicensed possession of a firearm and large capacity feeding device after Officers responded to an address on Main Street for a disturbance.
