It's dry all over the state. Burn bans all over the place. On Friday, Temps are in triple digits in parts of Eastern Wash. This is not a good time to play with fire. Do your part to reduce sparks - no cigarettes flying from car windows. No unnecessary flames. #wawildfire #wawx

Aircraft are utilizing waterways to collect water for fire suppression. For your safety and to assist our firefighting efforts, please steer clear of these water bodies when aircraft are present. Your cooperation can make a big difference in keeping everyone safe this season.

The WA Cascades will likely receive a couple rounds of thunderstorms Friday and Saturday. Rain is good news for decreasing overall fire risk, but downpours on recently burned areas can cause problems with rock/mud slides. Flash Flood Watches are in effect for Fri and Sat. #WAWX

Nine years ago today, three U.S. Forest Service firefighters lost their lives battling the Twisp River Fire in Okanogan County. This fire scorched over 11,000 acres of land in less than a week, during the 2015 wildfire season that saw over a million acres of our state burn.

#KnowBeforeYouFly! There have been 16 drone incursions reported in 2024, 8 of them resulted in aerial operations shutting down. Getting a bird's eye view of a wildland fire may be tempting, but know that when you fly, we can't. ➡ knowbeforeyoufly.org/about-us

😎🌞It's happening again. 78% chance Spokane reaches 90 degrees. If so, counter goes to 34 days for 2024 and a tie for 5th place for most 90 degree days. 🌡️ #wawx #idwx
