Day 903: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUGS! Here in his first cartoon, A Wild Hare (1940), you can see him already boasting his acting chops with Elmer. A good showing of what’s to come many years down the future. Thanks to Tex Avery and crew, Warner has a new cartoon superstar.

Day 904: In Porky’s Hare Hunt (1938) a new wacky rabbit appears. Although he’s much more looney than what Bugs became, it began the groundwork to crafting the wabbit we know and love. I like this part where he’s just helicoptering and hovering around because he felt like it

Day 905: What is your favorite moment from a Bugs Bunny cartoon?

Day 906: Prest-O Change-O (1939) is Chuck Jones’ first short starring the rabbit. Bugs definitely hasn’t been finalized yet, as he enjoys terrorizing this poor dog. One thing I love noticing as I watch Bugs Bunny’s catalog is how his character evolves alongside Chuck’s directing.
