I suspect we will start to see lots of Phytophthora showing up in North Dakota this year with all the rainfall we’ve been getting. Keep your eyes peeled!

Brown stem rot is very often misidentified as SDS! Make sure to split the stems and if you suspect it is something else send samples to NDSUPlantPathology diagnostic lab

Frogeye Leaf Spot detected in Southern North Dakota! Incidence is currently pocketed, but this disease is on the rise in the area. Not an economical threat at this time, but keep an eye out in your area.

I’ve been scouting fields the past few days and seeing many cases of active SCN in Eastern North Dakota. Lots of new cysts (yellow lemon shaped structures) and mature cysts (brown lemons). Now’s a great time to dig roots and see if SCN is impacting your crops. The SCN Coalition

SCN is expanding into ND in #soybean fields, and soil sampling is the most reliable way to determine SCN presence. Soil-sampling bags are available for #soybean producers through NDSU Extension, and NDSC will cover the laboratory cost. 🌱 Learn more: bit.ly/SCNSamplingND

Revenge fungicide applications never work. Below is some data where we tried rescue treatments of fungicide for white mold management. You can't get diseases under control once they are already moving, especially white mold. Plus negative ROI! Shawn Conley

Last field day of the year and a great chance for another of my graduate students to present all the work she’s been doing on validating white mold apothecial models in North Dakota

Scouting for Gibberella ear & stalk rot & testing for DON in silage corn is important even if ear symptoms are not present as DON may still accumulate in stalks. Read more at doi.org/10.31274/cpn-2… From Wade Webster Maxwell Chibuogwu 🥻🧥 Albert Tenuta Martin Chilvers Kiersten Wise
