Following the directives of EAC Sectoral Council of Ministers of Health, the EAC Medical Councils carried out the Joint Re-Inspection of Uzima University, School of Medicine in the Republic of Kenya from 25th to 29th November, 2024 and its teaching Hospitals.
Uzima University, School of Medicine meets the minimum requirements for training medical students as provided in the East African Community, Regional guidelines for Inspection and Recognition of Medical Schools and Teaching Hospitals in EAC Partner States.

The 1st East African Community (EAC) Ministerial Conference on Common Higher Education Area began at the Munyonyo Resort Hotel in Kampala, Uganda. President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, graced the opening of the conference.
Today 9/9/2025 in Kampala; H.E Museveni highlited educational disparities in East Africa noting that charging higher fees i.e schools fees to Sudanese or Rwandan....compared to Ugandans is criminal & not acceptable. He urged East Africans to embrace "Ekibaro"
